My Pole Journey: Chapter 2

I touched the ceiling today! And it wasn’t a low ceiling. I’m talking about a good old Victorian ceiling, at least a 12 foot climb, probably more. And I learnt something; I am strong as heck.

Pole is all about endurance and strength, and the technique to climb is one that I’ve had trouble getting used to. Essentially, it’s all in your leg strength and your forearms, neither of which I have very much of… But after 6 weeks of training and conditioning, I am a lean, mean, climbing machine. Except I’ve still got my love handles… And I actually have a pretty sunny disposition…. Okay so I’m a climbing machine then…

The best thing about PFL (Pole Fit London) is the way that our instructor teaches; not only do we condition every muscle each week, but we always have a routine that we put together by the end of the class. So even though I’m always exhausted, I get to end the class feeling fit and sexy as heck. And isn’t that the whole point?
