The most irritating answer to the question “what do you want to eat?” is “I don’t mind”. It’s non-committal. It’s indecisive. It’s weak. And it’s exactly the answer my sister gave when we were on our way to the London Coliseum last Winter.
Fortunately, tucked behind Tottenham Court Road station was a jewel: NY Fold. With pizza slices bigger than my face and a range of toppings that’ll keep even the fussiest of eaters happy, NY Fold offers the American Pizza Experience in a way that mass produced chains do not. Pizza Hut, I’m looking at you.
The menu takes pride in how many pizza slices it can offer, though please note that the menu diagrams of the pizzas are not to scale, and they are actually huge. We chose 4 distinctly topped pizza slices and, boy, they would have fed the five thousand! They were also delicious… The base was firm, though weighted down under pools of molten cheese, caressing islands of mushrooms and pepperoni, amongst other equally rich toppings. Not to mention the American-style spicy buffalo wings, which have recently exploded onto the foodie scene and also taken over my life (but that’s a separate post). Sharp and spicy, the wings were the perfect way to whet our appetites before the mountainous slices of pizza came our way.

If we only had more time, or more room in our stomachs, we might have been able to sample something from their dessert menu. Alas, that’ll have to wait for another time. I’ll await the sure-to-be rich and moist brownie dish with bated breath.
It was a shame to have to leave so soon, as the atmosphere took on a more South American feel towards the end of the evening, with a reggaton playlist thrumming as we ate. But we had to be on our way to catch the show, so we paid the very reasonable bill and left, far too full and oh so satisfied.
Overall, it’s an 8/10 because the pizzas were perhaps too big for me, but it was so so delicious.
